My Experience at Gokarna : A Paradise in itself!

I usually use to travel quiet often with my family, so my vision for travel was completely different back then. We use to explore all tourist places, do all touristy things. But at the same time we have a zest to explore most random, unexplored places as well. And ‘Gokarna’ happens to be one of such places.
So probably two years ago when I was in Goa with my family, they did not enjoy being at Goa as much, for all the obvious reasons – like its open culture, its chaotic lifestyle, etc. And I do respect their opinion, so they decided to leave Goa and take us to some nearby unexplored places.
And thats’ when Gokarna happened for the first time. Gokarna is 3 to 4 hours away from Goa, its probably known for the quiet beaches, beautiful and clean villages. I have been loving this place and like how!! And honestly my memory of visiting ‘Gokarna’ with family, is not clear! The images have been blurry by now.

But recently I decided to take upon my solo trip and planned my itinerary from ‘Goa – Gokarna – Coorg’. YES!! A SOLO TRIP.
So to begin with I started my journey from Goa and then took it ahead towards the south. I had planned everything from my stay to travel beforehand. I honestly did a lot of research and convinced my parents on the safety part of this trip.

But for now let me share my Gokarna travel experience here :
Location : So after a lot of research I decided to stay as a backpacker in a hostel, rather than a hotel. After all I was alone and I wanted to make friends which would ideally be possible at a hostel. I came across ‘Trippr’ Gokarna property, which was located right at the beach. The view was divine. I decided on staying in a mixed dorm, where I met a bunch of fellow travellers. It was initially difficult for me to open up to this strangers, who I had just met! But you know what – that was the best part, to speak your experiences and to hear them out. To make friends to let go of any thoughts that hold you back. After checking into my dorm, and making myself comfortable with the place, I decided to join a bunch of fellow travellers sitting downstair across the campfire. This experience was something different, few of them were listening to music, few staring at the beach and the moonlight. While a few prepared Maggi and offered everyone to join in. And all this with strangers, who’s names were still unknown to me.

Like me I met one more girl from Bangalore, she was of age 21 and was out on this solo trip. But this wasn’t new to her, she had been doing this since her college days and was pretty comfortable as well. Getting some inspiration from her, I also decided to open up for myself. While everyone was planning their next day, I also decided to join in with bunch of travellers who were planning to rent a bike and explore few tourist spots at Gokarna.

Renting the bike : So for the following day, we decided to list down the places to visit and rent a bike. It cost us Rs 200 per day. Some were planning to visit Namaste cafe, followed by a hike. While we decided to visit Yanna Caves, Vibhuti falls and drive along the roads of Gokarna, exploring the villages.
